Wedding Entertainment: What to Choose

If you’ve got the major task of planning a wedding, then it’s likely that you’ll be thinking about music and entertainment. Music has become a very large part of weddings, with music being played not only at the reception, but also taking a large role in the ceremony itself.

Trying to decide what entertainment is going to work best can be quite tricky as there are so many different options available to you. We’ve put a few helpful pointers in this article that should hopefully help you to make some informed decisions.

If you’re thinking about hiring a band for your wedding then you’ll need to have a think about what sort of music that you’d like. Have a search around and try to find a few bands that you think might be suitable. Once you’ve found some potential bands request a demo CD and some live footage. Most professional bands will have this to hand, alongside all their set lists and other useful information. It’s also worth working out how long you want them to play for, as this will greatly effect your quote.

If you want something a little bit more flexible than a band, you could consider hiring a DJ. DJ entertainment is great as you can easily specify playlists and ensure that the music suits everyone’s tastes. DJ’s can also be a cheaper option than a band, as effectively you are only paying one person. You could always go for both, in fact it’s quite a popular option to have a band play for the first part of the evening, with the DJ taking over and playing tunes into the early hours.

If you like things to be slightly more edgy, then most entertainment agencies will be able to recommend something a little off the wall. Entertainment doesn’t have to fit in a box, and the only limit is your imagination. You could consider having a circus act, or how about some dancers? If you think you’ve got the guts, anything’s possible!
