The plot of the hit TV series “Weeds” centers around a neighborhood mom coming up with unconventional means to make money to support her family. “Weeds” has been around since August 2005 and the setting is out of California. The plot is unique and discloses some fascinating information ab out high class individuals. “Weeds” is about a mother, Nancy Botwin, who takes up dealing marijuana as a means to make money to support her and her two boys.
Weeds is played on Showtime Network and is on Season five now. Due to the overwhelming success of the show, the producers have announced that there were will also be a season 6 aired in 2010. These seasons are planned for 13 episodes. These new episodes should explore more about Nancys everday troubles and are suppose to shed some more light on her past.
Looking at the past seasons of “Weeds” we can see different problems that present Nancy on a daily basis. Other characters in the show include her best friend Celia Hodes. Celia is a mother of two teenage daughters. They share many things in common. Andy Botwin is Nancy’s brother in law who stays around to keep the family stable.
Other characters in the TV Show “Weeds” include Conrad Shepard. He has feelings for Nancy. Nancy’s two sons – Shane Botwin and Silas Botwin are important characters. Silas has been traumatized since his father’s death and he struggles with maintaining healthy relationships. Shane is very intelligent and witty, but sometimes wierd.
The first season of Weeds was very gloomy as we say Judah die and all of the responsibility for keeping the family was immediately transferred to Nancy. Even though the business that she takes up may not be respected by many, we all must admire her for doing what she needs to do to support a family on her own.
The second season started off in a lighter tone. We see Nancy getting involved in more serious, underground drug trafficking scenarios. In season three started continued on the fallen drug deals of the second season finale. The drug trade gets even more serious and Nancy is becoming a bigger dealer. In season four we see the Botwin family relocate to another town and watch Nancy start drug trafficking across the border.
Weeds is a very unconventional show about doing what a person needs to do to make ends meet. We see a glimpse of the intense life of a drug dealer and we also see the struggles of an everyday single mom. Drugs, drama, family problems and comedy is what makes this show insanely popular. If you watch Weeds then you will immediately be hooked.
