The Ploughman’s Lunch – Complicated, cynical condemnation of British behaviors, ethics and affairs of state, focusing on the exercises of entirely egocentric journalist (Pryce) and others throughout the Falklands battle. Internal Affairs – Young police officer Raymond Avila works in the Internal Affairs Department of the Los Angeles Police Department. He and his colleague observe something dubious with Dennis Peck. Strange Interlude – A Eugene O’Neill drama that displays the twisted web of the diversity between our thoughts and our words. Norma Shearer plays a woman who lost the love of her life when he was shot down in WWI. The movie speaks of romances and marriages between Nina and three men, only one of whom she loves. It is about growing old without settling their complications. This is a captivating film, with Shearer at her radiant best. In God We Trust – Uninformed friar Feldman takes off to L.A. to produce cash for his monastery. This film is a comedy that is sadly unfunny starring Richard Pryor, who plays God. The Beverly Hillbillies – This is a movie based on the 1960′s TV series. When Jed Clampett accidentally discovers oil on his farm land in Arkansas, he becomes an instant millionaire. He brings the whole Clampett clan out to Beverly Hills. Being down-to-earth country folk they are victim to every cash hungry con artist in the great big city.
The Defiant – A captivating story of 2 fugitive convicts, one black and one white who are chained together as they escape from prison in the South. Excellent performances by Williams and Chaney as individuals they meet during the voyage. Academy Prize for screenplay by Harold Jacob Smith and Nathan E.
