The Fender Strat. When it was made back in 1954, no-one, least of all its creator Leo Fender, had no idea how iconic this guitar was about to become. Gibson SG. The SG was created in 1961 to be a redesign of the Les Paul -except that Les Paul himself didnt like the guitar. Renamed ‘sg’, which stands for solid guitar, it is much lighter than the Les Paul guitar. players who made the SG famous are Tony Iommi and Angus Young, both of whom have signature models.
